What is Classical Ballet?
Classical Ballet is a structured and elegant style of dance that is defined by its strict adherence to its specific and exacting techniques. It is most commonly danced to classical music and has a relatively fixed class structure. This defined class structure is fantastic for student improvement and discipline.
Pointe is actually a part of the general class structure of Classical Ballet that we have separated into its own class to give it greater and more specific attention. Pointe is danced with the use of specially made Pointe shoes that allow the dancer to hold themselves on the very tip of their toes.
RAD stands for the Royal Academy of Dance. It’s an examining body based in London that has developed one of the most internationally recognised and respected ballet syllabi.
